An animator's eye, applied to time.
Welcome to West Coast Movements. Curated by a 20-year veteran Disney character animator (Frozen, Zootopia, Moana), West Coast Movements offers an exclusive, premier collection of authentic luxury watches selected with an artist's devotion to precision, timing, and timeless design.
Having spent two decades at Walt Disney Studios obsessing over micro-expressions, frame-by-frame pacing, and elite craftsmanship to bring iconic characters to life, I apply that exact same meticulous eye to the world of fine horology. To me, a mechanical timepiece is not just a tool for keeping time — it is a wearable masterpiece of micro-engineering, patience, and living history. Based on the West Coast, my inventory is hand-selected and rigorously inspected for physical condition, structural symmetry, and mechanical integrity.
Where frames meet movements.
In animation, a single mistimed frame breaks the illusion. A character lives or dies in twelfths of a second — in the way a brow lifts, in the half-beat of a hesitation. Twenty years of that discipline rewires how you see: you stop noticing only the whole and start noticing every part that makes the whole convincing.
Horology rewards the same attention. A watch is twenty-four frames of engineering per second, sustained for a lifetime — escapement, balance, gear train, all conspiring to make seconds feel inevitable. When I evaluate a piece, I'm reading it the way I'd read a shot: is the symmetry honest, does the finishing hold up frame-by-frame, is there anything that would break the spell on the wrist?
Nothing enters the vault unexamined.
Every piece is hand-selected, then rigorously inspected against three non-negotiables.
Case, dial, crystal and bracelet assessed honestly — what you see is graded as what you'll receive.
Alignment, proportion and finishing checked the way a frame is checked — the details that separate excellent from acceptable.
Movement function verified so value rests on substance — a watch that runs the way its maker intended.
